Al Hamra to open two new hotels this year

Al Hamra is bringing Deutsche Hospitality’s renowned German hospitality expertise to Ras Al Khaimah through the Steigenberger Residences and MAXX by Deutsche Hospitality brands. Al Hamra Residences will be rebranded as Steigenberger Residences and feature 143 residences ranging from studio apartments to five-bedroom penthouses with views of the green 18-hole championship Al Hamra Golf Course and the Arabian Gulf. It will offer a number of food and beverage options, direct beach access, and leisure facilities. Al Hamra Village Hotel will be named MAXX by Deutsche Hospitality, it consists of 219 rooms and suites spread across 52 villas in addition to several leisure facilities for families, restaurants, and a European pub.

Ras Al Khaimah aims to attract more cruise ships

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism and Development Authority (RAKTDA) plans to attract at least 50 ships a season to bolster its target of three million visitors a year by 2030. RAK Ports has already transformed the old ferry terminal and developed visitor itineraries. The terminal can accommodate a number of cruise ships of up to 214 meters in length docking simultaneously. RAKTDA’s initial strategy was based on smaller passenger ships before moving its focus to mainstream cruise liners. RAK is a unique destination offering adventure tourism, pristine beaches, rain-soaked wadis, and jagged mountains.

Dubai Investments has signed AED1 billion ($272m) deal with Marjan

Dubai Investments has signed a deal to build a mixed-use beachfront resort and a residential complex on Al Marjan Island for AED1 billion ($272m). The project which will be situated on the View Island at the heart of Al Marjan Island will include a mix of residential and hospitality elements, including beachfront serviced apartments and villas, waterfront residential buildings, and retail and F&B components as well as other recreational facilities.

RAK Airventure launched in Ras Al Khaimah

RAK Airventure, a tethered hot air ballooning experience in Manar Mall, has been announced by Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA). The flight lasts approximately ten minutes with a distance of 30 meters above ground, giving you a glimpse of RAK’s stunning views of the Hajar Mountains, mangroves, desert dunes, the busy city, mosques, and palaces. RAK Airventure is operated by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and the flights are run by fully qualified pilots with years of experience in the ballooning industry giving passengers a safe and enjoyable experience.

Al Hamra launches $272.25 million freehold Falcon Island villa project in Ras Al Khaimah

Al Hamra has announced the launch of Falcon Island, an exclusive, freehold, luxury villa project within its Al Hamra Village residential community. Aldar Properties PJSC (Aldar) has acquired the all-inclusive 715-key Rixos Bab Al Bahr hotel for $210 million (AED 770 million) in addition to its recently acquired Al Hamra Mall. The acquisition of Rixos Bab Al Bahr is supported by the huge potential of the Emirate as a tourist hub. Aldar Investment plans to expand the mall’s offerings and introduce new brands to drive foot traffic and sales.
