Singapore

The Singapore office was established in 1996 originally under the name of Strohal & Kretschmer PTE Ltd, which had later been changed to Strohal Legal Group PTE Ltd. (with personal liability of the shareholders). We cooperate closely with one of the largest law firms in Singapore, Hin Tat, Augustine & Partners.

Our clients are offered international tax law and local expertise at the highest level. Singapore primarily serves our clients as a hub for business activities in Asia. Singapore has concluded double taxation agreements and investment protection agreements with almost all Asian and European countries. Although Singapore is not a “tax haven”, with only 17 % corporate tax and 0 % dividend taxation, it is one of the most tax-favorable countries worldwide. Singapore only has a local taxation system, profits made outside the country are not taxed.

Singapore can also be recommended as a main residence. For residents, income from foreign investments is also tax-free. The infrastructure is at least identical if not better than in many western cities and the crime rate is extremely low. The international airport in Changi offers direct connections to almost all parts of the world. In 30 minutes you can be in Malaysia by car or in Indonesia by boat. Singapore has seen an incredible development since its independence over 50 years ago, operates one of the largest container ports in the world and has earned itself 1st place in the range of most popular cities for both business and quality of life.

We can assist you not only in company formation and business activities but also in obtaining residency or even citizenship. For almost all businesses in the ASEAN region, we recommend the formation of a Singapore company first, as Singapore offers, according to bilateral agreements, a much greater security than starting business directly from Europe or the Middle East. But not only holding structures are recommended for this reason, but also for legal tax optimisation, as in many cases Singapore has concluded more advantageous double taxation agreements with European states than other countries.
